ONE OF THE SAFEST SEDANS JUST GOT SAFER
The 2019 Mazda6 upgrades its Safety Rating from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). Previously holding the title of Top Safety Pick, recent improvements in the headlights of both the Mazda6 and Mazda CX-9 resulted in the Safety institute upgrading its already commendable rating. Both the Mazda 6 and Mazda CX-9 aced the institute's series of crash tests. More stringent headlight testing prevented them from scoring the top grade required for the Top Safety Pick+ designation.
Never ones to settle for second place, the engineering team at Mazda made improvements to headlights for both the Mazda CX-9 and the Mazda6. These improvements resulted in better performance in the IIHS' headlight tests, qualifying both vehicles for their now-upgraded status.
Mazda's designs vehicles with you, the driver, at the center. As a result, your safety is of the highest priority when we design our vehicles. We stand by the belief that if you are behind the wheel of a Mazda, you are driving one of the safest vehicles on the road. This achievement is testament to that belief.
The IIHS is an independent, non-governmental safety-testing organization, funded by the insurance industry. For more information, visit IIHS.org.
